Thank You Mr. Vice President

I am honored and humbled to think that Al Gore reads my blog and actually took the time to submit his own comment. Thank you Mr. Gore - I appreciate your observations and I'm taking this opportunity to post a response.

Like you, I look forward to the day when the world can rely on clean energy and ways of consuming it. Necessity will compel us to break our dependencies on fossil fuels, if for no other reason than the fact that those fuels will run out.

But we can all take steps today that will help minimize our energy consumption. And while many of us would happily buy new hybrid cars if we had unlimited funds, the steps I mentioned in my previous post can be used right now to cut down on our use of gasoline. It's the old adage 'think globally, act locally' put into practice.

So I urge you, Mr. Gore, and everyone who reads this, to leave a little earlier and slow down on the highway. Let's put our nation and our environment ahead of our own interests while we start to break the stranglehold that foreign oil has on us.

Well said Joe, but you didn't give me enough credit. And I would also like to be addressed as "Nobel Prize Winner and Former Vice President Al Gore".

If you didn't notice, I have made millions off of my global warming agenda. Also, this winter was one of the coldest in a while and the world temp dropped one degree, obviously due to the fact that I have educated our nation of morons.

Thanks to people like you who actually make a difference I can continue to operate my private jets and several of my hardly-energy-efficient homes! Thank you for your diligence! I will be sure to put in a good word for the lady in the pant-suit so she doesn't raise your taxes too much.

Again, I have to thank Nobel Prize Winner and Former Vice President Al Gore. (Sorry for my earlier lapse in decorum.) I am honored by his participation on this blog.

Sadly, though, it appears that Mr. Gore is slipping from the trembling grip of sanity. I suspect his unsuccessful machinations to win the presidency in 2000 put him over the edge. We all pray for you, sir, and hope that the McCain presidency finds you well.
